- Compile and analyze financial data to prepare journal entries and document transactions.
- Prepare profit and loss statements, monthly close reports, and cost accounting summaries.
- Complete general ledger reconciliations with supporting documentation.
- Gather and review information to validate and support financial transactions.
- Maintain and implement accounting procedures and internal controls.
- Review and analyze budgets, expenditures, and variances.
- Recommend budget levels and ensure proper expenditure control.
- Monitor accounting system reports for accuracy and completeness.
- Analyze and communicate revenue, expense, and balance sheet trends.
- Work with business units and controllers to resolve discrepancies.
- Build effective working relationships across finance and support teams.
- Maintain financial databases and accounting systems.
- Input financial data and generate reports using automated systems.
- Support internal and external audit processes.
- Ensure compliance with company policies, GAAP, and SOX requirements.

- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Economics, Business, or related field.
- 3–5 years of accounting experience.
- Audit experience and Oracle Financials knowledge preferred.

- Ability to analyze complex financial and statistical data.
- Strong research, documentation, and problem-solving skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Access.

Cost Accountant (6-month contract)

Contract PositionOur client is looking for a meticulous and analytical Cost Accountant to join our finance team. The ideal candidate will play a key role in analyzing cost data, monitoring inventory valuations, and producing accurate financial reports.Job Description
- Analyze and report on manufacturing costs, including labor, materials, and overhead.
- Develop and maintain cost accounting systems, such as standard costing and job order costing.
- Investigate and explain variances between actual and standard costs.
- Maintain and reconcile perpetual inventory records with physical counts.
- Analyze inventory valuations, including identifying obsolescence and slow-moving stock.
- Collaborate with production and operations teams to optimize inventory levels.
- Assist in preparing annual budgets and forecasts.
- Provide financial data and analysis to support strategic decision-making.
- Prepare and present reports on cost of goods sold (COGS), profitability, and key performance indicators (KPIs).
- Identify opportunities for cost reduction and operational efficiency.
- Work cross-functionally to ensure accurate and timely data collection.
- Ensure compliance with accounting standards and company policies.

- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. CPA or CMA certification is a plus.
- Proven experience as a Cost Accountant or in a similar role.
- Strong knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
- Experience with ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, NetSuite) is highly desirable.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (including pivot tables and VLOOKUP).
