    Job Description

    • Assist R&D Director - APAC in managing long term Flooring Product development strategy and implementation at relevant facilities within APAC.
    • Provide technical leadership and mentoring to Flooring R&D team.
    • Work closely with APAC Market Segment Team to ensure implementation of Stage Gate Process, review, plan and allocate R&D resource for approved regional Flooring projects.
    • Manage the transfer of Flooring products from other regions to APAC. This will involve working with purchasing to identify raw material vendors, producing and testing trial batches in the lab, scale up to the plant and validation of scale up batches within APAC production sites.
    • Define project timelines and targets, lead regional R&D development projects and manage product development projects from feasibility to commercialization.
    • Conduct regular meetings with regional R&D team, follow-up development progress, support to resolve local issues and meeting target plan.
    • Responsible for developing new products based on business and marketing needs that are designed for the different construction practices and climates found in the region.
    • Develop new products and improve functioning of existing products for the APAC region and effectively support the introduction of new products into the market.
    • Lead Regional Expert Team (RET) for Flooring segment, report development progress, issues and plans.
    • Provide plant support to APAC regional plants where required, identify cost savings project through formulation cost optimization.
    • Work closely with Production and Engineering teams at regional plant to optimize manufacturing processes as and when required.
    • Ensure efficient communication of technical information to regional R&D team.

    Requirements

    •Bachelor's/Postgraduate Degree in Chemistry or Polymer Chemistry or Material Science or related discipline.
    •Minimum 5 years of experience in Product Development and QC in a Manufacturing laboratory environment.
    •Experience in Construction Chemicals industry, preferably in Flooring, Coating or LAM application.
    •Excellent Excel and PowerPoint skills and some experience of ERP systems.
    •Strong analytical and communication skills.
    •Good interpersonal skills.
    •Computer literate.
    •A team player, highly motivated person with strong drive to succeed and able to work independently with minimum supervision.
    •Good report writing skills.

    Job Description

    1. Responsible for creating demand by developing client specifications through key specifiers such as architects, consultants, and developers. 
    2. Identify key decision makers in identified market segments, develop strong relationships with these decision makers, and specify client’s products. 
    3. Develop a strong customer and project database to specify client’s products.
    4. Understand key customer requirements to offer differentiated products.
