    Assistant Manager Business Unit Controlling – 6 months contract - GW/MK

    A company specialising in market expansion service is looking for an Assistant Manager Business Unit Controlling to join their team. You'll be responsible for managing country Business Unit’s management reporting, analysis, performance tracking and issue management, decision support, budgeting/planning, investment, contract appraisal and working capital control.

    Job Description

    • Accuracy of targets and estimates, working capital management, financial performance (top line, expenses, and EBIT), and currency impact.
    • Manage departmental operational budgets and costs in accordance with annual budget allocations to achieve resource efficiency.
    • Oversee the country Business Unit's annual target-setting process. Ensure that global templates are implemented, that review schedules are coordinated, that plans are consolidated, and that an annual budget presentation to the Senior Executive Team is prepared.
    • Monitor and analyze monthly performance of country Business Units using a variety of data sources (CORE, Crystal, Prism, etc.) to produce a consistent picture of current performance, critical challenges, and action items.
    • Assist in the preparation and presentation of the monthly operations review for the Business Unit to the Country Finance Manager/BU Dept Heads/LBUM.
    • Gather financial data to assist the country Business Unit with contract negotiations, client/customer profitability analysis, internal and external presentations, issue tracking and management, investments, and other significant events.
    • Prepare in-depth analysis and opinions to aid conversations on important financial topics such as advertising and promotion spending, working capital utilization, and cost development.
    • Gather and analyze important data and information for country Business Unit strategy development and strategic projects (e.g. M&A due diligence, restructurings, disposals, joint venture negotiations/management, and so on).
    • Lead country Business Unit continuous improvement programs to increase efficiencies by streamlining Business Unit controlling processes and reporting (Lighthouse, CORE, MORE, etc.)
    • Ensure timely awareness of financial performance and adequate management of any financial difficulties by managing internal relationships across country Business Units on matters relating to business controlling.
    • Collaborate with Group Business Unit Controllers and Country Finance Managers to ensure that analytics and reporting are consistent. Ensure that the country's business unit receives high-quality business control support.

    Requirements

    • Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline degree or professional qualification
    • Minimum of 5 to 8 years of experience in a similar position, especially with exposure control in a foreign nation
    • Two to three years of management experience is required.

    Senior Manager / Assistant Vice President - Tax

You'll be in charge of tax consulting and income tax compliance, and you'll collaborate closely with the business and finance teams to provide tax planning advice and record the tax consequences of these strategies.

    Job Description

    • Provide tax advise on tax-efficient outbound investment structures, such as holding and financing structures for the acquisition of Singapore-based or international enterprises or properties.
    • Provide cross-border tax advice, such as profit repatriation schemes, withholding taxes, and transfer pricing, among other things.
    • Review and undertake tax due diligence on business acquisitions.
    • On M&A negotiations, acquisitions, and divestments of investments, collaborate with legal, financial, and tax consultants as well as internal departments.
    • Take charge of tax compliance reviews and resolving disputes.
    • Examine the documents for transfer pricing, cost allocation, and management fee charge methodology and analysis.
    • Engage government agencies and tax authorities for beneficial tax positions and objections to tax assessments, including litigation if necessary.
    • Keep up with changes in Singapore and international tax legislation and inform management of any consequences for the company's tax status.
