    Manager, Accounting & Tax, Group Finance

    A renown insurance company is seeking for a Accounting & Tax Manager for Group level. The role consists of financial reporting and consolidation and you will be responsible for a broad spectrum of Group financial closing and reporting activities.

    Job Description

    • To be responsible for Group closing and reporting activities, including statutory reporting;  closing timelines and activities quarterly and half yearly, perform and review monthly closing of subsidiary accounts and reconciliations, prepare consolidation journal entries as well as prepare monthly consolidated financials
    • and liaise with external auditor during the annual audit process for half yearly financial statements.
    • To be responsible for reporting to head office; Address queries from Head Office with regards to the reporting pack
    • To be responsible for regulatory reporting; prepre monthly Group Capital Adequacy Ratio (CAR), collate and review submission from subsidiaries, prepare and submit quarterly reports and address queries from regulators
    • To be responsible for other Group activities; To assess the impact and implement changes arising from new financial reporting standards (SFRS(I)) and regulations (Insurance Act or Banking Act) on statutory, head office and regulatory reporting
    • Takes accountability in considering business and regulatory compliance risks and takes appropriate steps to mitigate the risks.
    • Maintains awareness of industry trends on regulatory compliance, emerging threats and technologies in order to understand the risk and better safeguard the company.
    • Highlights any potential concerns /risks and proactively shares best risk management practices.

    Requirements

    • Degree or Diploma in Accountancy or equivalent professional qualifications.
    • 4 to 5 years of relevant working experience, with experience in Big 4 audit firms. Good knowledge of Singapore Financial Reporting Standards (International) and experience in the insurance industry would be an advantage.
    • Able to work independently and under pressure to meet tight reporting deadlines. Working on weekends or public holidays to meet deadlines would be required.

    • Strong analytical and numerical skills, meticulous and detailed
    • Strong team player with good communication skills

    Technology Risk Management (AVP)

    You will report to the Head of Technology Risk Management (TRM) and responsible to be involved from a 2nd line perspective in digital transformation projects to ensure compliance with relevant legislation and regulations. Digital transformation is an important enabler for innovation in the insurance industry. Managing risks is important ability to leverage on technology transformation in a sustainable manner. You are responsible to provide advice and guidance on digital transformation risk assessment to achieve a balance between innovation and managing digital risks. You will also enjoy a total remuneration of up to $100,000.

    Job Description

     

    • Participate in all digital transformation project steering committee meetings;
    • Provide advice and guidance, including review of and concur on risk assessment;
    • Maintain a framework to manage digital transformation risks, including maintaining a library of the relevant risks;
    • Keep abreast of regulatory developments and best practices; and
    • Any other duties which may be assigned.

    Requirements

     

    • Bachelor in computer science or equivalent;
    • At least 7 years relevant experience in the areas of digital/technology risk, IT compliance and/or IT audit in financial services industry;
    • Prior experience in digital transformation projects participation within financial services industry is an advantage;
    • Professional related certifications such as: CISSP, CISA etc is preferred;
    • Well versed in regulations relevant for digital and technology risks; and
    • Good communication, writing, coordination and interpersonal skills.
