- Lead, mentor, and develop a team of 7–10 sustaining engineers, driving priorities, resource planning, and engineering best practices across the function.
- Take full ownership of engineering change management, configuration control, and product documentation - including BOMs, drawings, and test specs - with disciplined release processes in PLM/ERP systems.
- Investigate and resolve field and factory issues through structured root cause analysis and drive corrective and preventive actions through to closure.
- Manage component lifecycle proactively - handling end-of-life and product change notifications, qualifying alternate sources, and leading value engineering efforts to optimise cost, quality, and supply continuity.
- Oversee product reliability improvements, design updates, and verification & validation testing, ensuring backward compatibility is maintained where needed.
- Sustain and enhance product safety certifications and regulatory compliance in line with applicable IEC/UL standards, engaging external test laboratories as required.
- Review and guide PCB and electrical redesigns, schematic updates, and layout changes, ensuring documentation remains accurate and fully traceable.
- Collaborate with Operations to strengthen manufacturing test strategies, improve production yield, reduce scrap, and tighten process controls.
- Monitor and report on KPIs - including field failure rates, change cycle times, cost savings, and obsolescence exposure - keeping stakeholders informed and aligned.
- Work closely with suppliers on quality assurance and component alternatives; support production part approval and first article inspection processes where applicable.
- Serve as technical escalation support for customer-facing teams, key accounts, and service/RMA functions.

- Degree in Electrical or Electronic Engineering (BEng, MEng, or MSc).
- At least 7 years of experience in electronics product development or sustaining engineering, with 2–4 years in a team leadership role.
- Solid grounding in analogue and digital electronics; able to read and interpret schematics and provide practical guidance on PCB-level design changes.
- Hands-on experience with engineering change processes, PLM systems (e.g., Agile, Arena), and ERP platforms (e.g., SAP).
- Practical experience in product failure analysis and validation testing covering environmental, EMC, and safety aspects.
- Familiarity with relevant IEC/UL standards applicable to power conversion and medical products.
- Proficient in quality and reliability tools including FMEA, 8D, DOE, and statistical analysis.
- Experience with ECAD tools (e.g., Altium, OrCAD) and circuit simulation is advantageous.
- Strong communicator with proven ability to lead cross-functional teams and manage diverse stakeholders effectively
Nice to Have:
- Hands-on background in power electronics or power supply design (AC-DC, DC-DC, EMI filters, magnetics).
- Exposure to regulated industries such as medical, industrial, automotive, or aerospace with relevant quality management system experience.
- Project or change management certification (PMP, Prince2, or equivalent).
